CHELSEA OWNER WANTS LUKAKU BACK…

Belgian striker Lukaku, who just won the Serie A title with Inter Milan, is a key target this summer for the Blues, who snuck into the Premier League’s top four last season before winning the Champions League.

Eurosport reports that Abramovich is rolling up his sleeves and getting directly involved in the transfer market this off-season to help boost manager Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Tuchel is entering his first summer transfer window as Chelsea boss and is looking to make wholesale changes as he aims to stamp his mark on the squad.

After a series of loan spells, Lukaku left Chelsea in the summer of 2014 as a 21-year-old, going on to play for Everton, Manchester United and now Inter Milan.

Lukaku desperately fell out of form, however, while in Manchester — but he is back to his best in Italy having just notched a 30-goal season.

Eurosport reports that talks with Manchester City, however, could scupper Chelsea’s hopes of bringing him back to Stamford Bridge.

Reports suggest that Lukaku has been valued by Chelsea at about £100m (A$183m).

… AND HE’LL CLEAR HOUSE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN

Should Lukaku leave Inter, Chelsea is going to need to make some room.

According to the Daily Mail, the European champions intend to make more than enough space with a whopping 11 players on the chopping block.

Tuchel is chasing up to four signings across the board, which could see a host of fringe players sent out on loan spells, or sold entirely.

The publication reports Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Ross Barkley could all be on their way out of west London.

So could Tammy Abraham, who Chelsea is reportedly willing to sell for £40m (A$73.25m).

Apart from signing a striker, Tuchel is said to want additions at centre-back, centre midfield and at wing-back.

CITY’S STUNNING PLAY FOR KANE

While Chelsea hunts four signings, Manchester City is reportedly considering selling four first-team players in a bid to secure the services of Harry Kane.

City is still the firm favourite to land the Tottenham striker, but his signing will almost certainly see other players pushed out the door at the Etihad.

The size of the sacrifice could ultimately be immense, with The Athletic reporting that Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus AND Aymeric Laporte could be shipped to secure the funds for Kane.

Sterling was bought by City in 2015 for £49m, Jesus in 2016 for £27m, Mahrez in 2018 for £60m and Laporte in the same year for £57 — making their sales a £193m (A$353.5m) sacrifice.

City is desperately on the hunt for a new striker after finally parting ways with Sergio Aguero, who has joined Barcelona for free, while Sterling has been out of form.

Arsenal is said to be keen on snapping up the 26-year-old, which could scupper a deal for Kane if City is only willing to offer a player-plus-cash deal.

Pep Guardiola was on Tuesday reported as being willing to offer Sterling and Jesus plus cash to sign Kane.
