Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t hide his displeasure after missing out on the FIFA Best Men’s Player award overnight.
The Juventus star won the award in 2016 and 2017 before missing out to Luka Modric and Lionel Messi the following two years.
And he was left empty-handed again for the 2020 award, as Robert Lewandowski claimed the prize after scoring 60 goals in just 52 games – 20 more than any other player in the top five leagues in Europe.
The 32-year-old also fired Bayern Munich to a historic treble during the suspended 2019-20 season.

The award was announced by FIFA president Gianni Infantino walking down a corridor to ‘surprise’ the winner, with all of the contenders watching on via video link.
And as it became clear than Lewandowski was the winner, Ronaldo sat stern faced and arms crossed with disappointment written all over his face.
Elsewhere, Tottenham star Heung-min Son won the Puskas award for the best goal for his individual strike against Burnley last year, while England’s Lucy Bronze won the FIFA Best Women’s Player award.
